I just returned from a business trip last week and it got me thinking about vegan traveling. When most bloggers travel, they come home and do a bunch of very exciting vegan food posts from all the incredible vegan restaurants they visited. They blast their blog with all the drool-worthy food they ate, and tease us with a veritable menu of food porn pictures.
That’s all fine and good but let’s be honest…. or maybe let’s just let me be honest… Chances are, I’ll never actually visit the restaurant they’re posting about. Even if I end up visiting the same city, I’ve tried hunting down those uh-maaaaay-zing vegan spots I read about in this blog or that blog… but I’ve just never been able to make it happen. It’s either too far away, too expensive, too much of a hassle, or I just get do damn hungry to care.
Conversely, what if you are traveling for work or aren’t traveling to some vegan mecca like Los Angeles or Portland? Where can you go when you need to eat in an unfamiliar land? Who can you rely on?
Like a trusty and loyal steed, Starbucks will always be there for you. The great vegan safety net, I’ve traveled to 14 different countries and 25 US states and Starbucks has always been my failsafe for food and drink… except the Starbucks in Turkey. Apparently there is some kind of national soymilk shortage in Turkey (speculation, not actual fact), Starbucks in Turkey supposedly offered soy milk but every time I tried to order soy, they were out of stock. Boo.
Anyways, today I thought I would compile a vegan Starbucks survival guide of vegan offerings! I’m simply compiling a list and a picture of each vegan item, if you’d like the full nutritional info, simply click the link!
Offerings vary widely from Starbucks-to-Starbucks and especially in different countries but that’s all part of the fun! If there are some vegan regional offerings at your local Starbucks, let me know in the comments!
